First, the misconception here is he killed his whole family, when he just killed his wife and the son he had with her. He still has two remaining children, which is sad.
Another misconception, depending on method is that hanging is meant to strangle someone to death. Usually it's actually used to severe the spinal column and break your neck. Depending on if Chris jumped down from somewhere depends on if he died of asphyxiation.
I'm really torn on this Benoit thing. I wonder if he was victim of schizophrenia due to steroid abuse a la his paralyzed hero Dynamite. I can't help but feel he's a victim in this as well, yet people choose to antagonize, which in a time like this, I can understand wanting to point a finger at someone. I say we point a finger at Vince McMahon and his shoddy wellness policy. It's obvious he's trying to dodge suspicion, his actions and statements to the media since yesterday have proven that.

He hung himself with one of his weightlifting cords. Technically they all died of asphyxiation, bc he cut off the air supply to himself as well. It is very tragic for what happened to his family.
And actually, to Candle, there is no misconception. It was released that all three died of asphyxiation before anything about him hanging himself was ever released. Nothing about his spinal column being snapped was ever released. Second, I do not think there is any misconception that he had two other children from a previous relationship that were not there at the time of the incidents. However, it is still quite tragic for the whole family that they have lost loved ones.

It's a shame. He killed his whole family. Too many knocks to the head and steroids, other drugs? I want to say He is NO Hero He was an entertainer. He was good at what he did. But he did it with drugs and the one thing that is for sure with drugs be it steroids or whatever drug if you take it there are consequences- that you either quick, go insane or die. I can't find any better scenarios with drugs. He should not have gotten a Tribute. The Heroes are the men fighting in Iraq.

He hung him self by a weight machine after nearly spending a whole day with the bodies. apparently they found steroids in is home which they may think caused Benoit to have a brake down which caused him to kill his family and hang him self.

He was a roid-rager who stangled his wife, smothered his son and then strung himself up. What a hero.
