Since his heart surgery after his Reality Tour, he has been doing small things and spending time with his family.
Last I heard, he was supposed to be working on making a voice appearance in a Spongebob Squarepants cartoon.

He was in that film The Prestige, but I haven't seen any new music from him in a while but I'm sure he hasn't retired, maybe just taking a little break!

06.26.07 Movie: Last Temptation Of Christ SUND (USA): 11.05PM 1988 (Dir: Martin Scorsese). Brilliant, controversial and unorthodox film about the life of Christ, with Willem Dafoe as Christ, Harvey Keitel as Judas, Barbara Hershey as Mary Magdalene, Harry Dean Stanton as Paul, David Bowie as Pontius Pilate and Verna Bloom as Mary.
07.06.07 Movie: Into The Night EDRA (USA): 1.30AM (1985). It has been said that this is one of the best small movies of the 1980s. "Into the Night" is a delight of unexpected, off-beat plot twists and throw-away lines. One never knows who'll show up next, from David Bowie as a British agent to Carl Perkins of "Blue Suede Shoes" as hired muscle.
07.07.07 Movie: Everybody Loves Sunshine Movies4Men2 (UK): 10.00PM 1999 (Written and Directed by Andrew Goth) Gritty British crime drama about two cousins, Terry (Goldie) and Ray (Andrew Goth), who get out of jail and find their old gang under siege by a Chinese Triad. David plays the part of Bernie, a fastidious, cold and emotionless 'old school' gangster with razor blades sewn into his lapels (David's own idea). Bernie, a world-weary lawyer who ignores the murder and drug pushing around him, has been minding the gang while the cousins were in prison. Bowie plays the small but integral part brilliantly... proving his talent as an actor. (imdb)
07.15.07 Movie: Into The Night EDRA (USA): 1.15PM (1985).
07.24.07 Movie: Twin Peaks (Fire Walk With Me) HBO (USA): 3.50AM 1992 ( Dir: David Lynch) David plays the part of Agent Phillip Jeffries in this film prequel to the acclaimed earlier TV series 'Twin Peaks'. Taglines include In a town where nothing is as it seems... and everyone has something to hide... no one is innocent. The latter part of the film covers the last seven days of Laura Palmer's life - the story that motivated most of the series. David's cameo is at a pivotal point in the film, and his enigmatic dialogue and presence create a suddenly frightening atmosphere and begin the film's spiral into confusion and otherworldliness. In true David Lynch mould, obsessive sex, intense rage and hellish, nightmarish imagery pervade. It was a dream, we live inside a dream. - Phillip Jeffries.
