After first discount of 10%, the cost of recorder becomes
=900-900*10/100
=900-90
=810

Actually sold at 648

second discount amount=810-648
=162

Second Discount in % = 162*100/810 =20%

900 after the 10% discount is
900 x 90% = 810

let y be the second discount,
810 - y = 648
810 - 648 = y
y = 162

so the second discount is 162
which is equal to,
(162/810) x 100 = 20%

answer (2) 20%

price of the recorder after first discount=90/100*900=810

final selling price =648
so further discount=810-648=162

so % of further discount=162/810*100=20%

option(2) is right

P = 648 = 900 x (1-.10) x (1-D)

then

D = 1- (648/(900x.90)) = .20 = 20%
