On 12th January 1939 the temperature in Adelaide reached 46.1°C. (115°F) - the hottest temp ever recorded in the city.

The highest temp recorded anywhere in Australia was 50.7°C (123.3°F) on 2nd January 1960 at Oodnadatta.
