I agree with the gal above me! There are so many reasons you should keep your baby on formula till there one! Seven months is kind of early to be switching to table foods! Now dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with a baby eating rice and other gerber products! But thats why they make step baby food! Talk to your wic asap!

I think you will realise through your babys demands how often you should give your baby a bottle. Im a firs time mum, and my baby is 7 months too. She has been weaned now for a couple of months but only recently has she been having all the 3 meals a day. I have noticed there isnt as much demand for food now that she is on solids. When your baby does cry tho id think : is is time for dinner or tea..etc. i give my baby 3 feeds during the day. Just let your baby dictate when she wants to be fed, don't force him/her to have a bottle. Also i would say feed them a bottle inbetween meals too. I hope this helps :)

Even though she's eating some solids foods the baby still needs the nutrients from her formula. After his first year you may start feeding her regular milk, and when she is two you can give her 2% milk. I've done the same for my boys and they turned out to be healthy boys. (except, they now drink soy milk)

Try reducing it to a pint a day. First thing in the morning, make his brekkie with his milk and offer milk as a drink. Give water or weak juice during the day then offer milk an hour or so after dinner before bed.

So long as he is eating a good range of solids, he will be great. Try giving him some yogurt, or cheese, get calcium into him in other ways.

Good luck

My daughter was 6 months old when she started eating solids and I took away her formula milk and replaced it with the milk we used. I also started giving her some fruit juices and some rooibos tea instead of milk. But she still needs milk for those important calciums!

This is a question for your Wic Counselor or your Pediatrician. Your peditrician will tell you what is best for your baby, but Ive always been one that says if the baby is hungry feed him... The doctor is going to look at caloric intake.. and will suggest the best amount of formula/breastmilk for h im :)
