most people relate with the character as that is all that they see of the person. Anna Nichole Smith died and people cried. Most didn't see that she was a gold digger only that she had a hard life and got far through hard work. Yeah right. Most people like the characters that actors and actresses play and relate that the person must be close to the character. That is what I think anyhow.

With some people, they feel a connection with a certain famous person. If the person is influential enough, reflects the same views of the fan, and is highly respected, you can feel like this person is really important. People, even ones you've never met, can change your life, or change the way you see it, even, in some drastic situations, save your life. Some people just need a little inspiration. Some people are open enough to let strangers into their hearts.

People tend to attach themselves to celebrities and bring them into their homes. It's almsot like these people make the celebrities a part of the family.
They know all the personal facts about these people and feel as if they know them.
When the celebritiy dies it's like a part of them died as well.
Also I agree with you, I am more pissed off at Chris Benoit for killing his family then what he did to himself.
Why take an innocent woman and child with you if you want to end it all.

I think it's the effect that certain celebs have on the community in gerneral. Princess Diana for instance. She did so much for the poorer countries and contributed to so many charities. She was good for so many people. And Steve Irwin...all he wanted to do was teach people about animals, and he was good at what he did. I will admit, I cried when he died and Lady Diana died. It was tragic. But as far as Chris Benoit....I hope he burns. He killed his wife and son. And a coward in the end for killing himself.

I have no idea. I don't think people should be treating this man like he is some kind of hero. He killed his wife and child and for that he deserves some kind of tribute? What's wrong with some people?

they could have been inspired by these people... there are others who are easily touched and are sentimental... it's just like others who cry over a book or a movie... it's like that...
