I think it's a matter of all three. First, the capitalism allows all of us the opportunity to succeed in the US. Second, the system of justice protects what is ours and prevents us from unfairly intruding on other's rights. Last, we can maintain our progress by kicking out or re-electing those officials who look out for us.

The American Dream is based upon the ability to work and advance ones self by his or her own efforts, rather than a feudal system where a person was locked intoa station and unable to change.
So the correct answer would be #2 and #4
