Ok, I don't know if it's a heat rash or an allergic reaction to this Monistat powder I was using or what, but where my outer labia meets my inner thigh, I am all broken out! I am truly starting to freak out! I went to the doctor last week who diagnosed me with a yeast infection. He gave me two Diflucan and told me to take the second this week if things didn't improve after the first. To top it all off, my non-existent period started too, so I don't know if it's all related or not. The "rash" just appeared in the last day or so, about the same time my period came back. I work outside with my job, so I also didn't know if it could be a heat rash. I've even been looking up photos of STD's because I'm so paranoid! It seems consistent with the symptoms of heat rash too, so I didn't know what might work to clear it up. Any suggestions?

To give a better idea, it's all irritated and broken out where your underwear line would be. My mom suggested that it might be from the plastic of my maxi pad or even the elastic from my underwear rubbing that area raw and gathering sweat. I'm really worried right now because I'm hoping my now ex didn't give me something before we split. The chances of that are slim and it really is probably something minor that is easily treatable, but I'm losing my mind!

It most likely sounds like a heat rash or chafing due to tight fitted clothing. If you wear thongs and cotton underwear, your vagina does not have time to breathe. You could ask your doctor to test you for STDs, but if he checked you out and doesn't think you have any, then you don't need to worry =). Especially during the summer, sweat and vaginal fluids trapped in by your underwear will cause chafing. As soon as you get home, shower, or wipe, and dry it thoroughly, go commando (underwearless), wear loose-fitted pants/shorts, and let that area air out. And try sleeping commando (underwearless) at night! That, and meds your doctor give you should help clear it up in no time! Good luck!

Yes, it's very possible that this could be heat rash related. I would recommend seeing your primary care physician for an additional opinion on this issue.
