who decides the cast credits to put in movies? what postion approves names for imdb?

to Marianne D- yes but what i meant was what person does this. who is it that they speak with, is it the actual producer of the film?

The production submits them to be included. If you were in a project and were not listed in the credits that were submitted you can email imdb and tell them. They will check with the production who will either confirm or deny your involvement with the project and your credit will be changed (or not) as a result.
