What is the best way of investing an amount of say Rs.50,000/- in India? In a lecture on Statistical analysis a professor said it is good to convert the Indian rupees in to USD and then invest can show up to 5 times difference in the profit gained when invested in rupees. Is that so. If yes tell me how to do. Is there any other better ways of investing?

With a rising rupee and a falling dollar that is a good way to lose money.

In the U.S. there are things called REITs which are basically stocks invested in land rather than a business. For instance 1,000 rupees might not buy you any land, but 10,000 investers putting in 1,000 rupees each could probably buy a small mall to rent out. Then those people get their money from the rent. Property has to be big in India as more people able to buy more land and India isn't that big of a country where over a billion people are concerned.
