No he didn't, he made an even bigger mess out of the mess that was left for him. He was elected ten years ago because people were sick of the excesses and corruption of the Tories and wanted a more just society. New Labour and Blair promised that. They haven't delivered - in fact with a few exceptions, Blair has followed the same policies. This has predictably led to more disillusionment among the disadvantaged which is being translated more and more into lawlessness and violence. Corruption and cronyism in government is rife, big business has more opportunities than ever to exploit the consumer and worker, the class system is stronger than ever.
And then there's Blair's foreign policy - grotesque, bloody and immoral. He has aligned himself with the most corrupt administration in US history and has followed them into the illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He lied to parliament and the public to satisfy his lust for war. Blair's actions have led to the deaths of over half a million civilians. As a result, respect for the UK in the international community is at an all time low.
Blair has badly let down the UK. He is a self-serving liar who won't be missed by anyone with morals in this country.

He'll never be popular since he allied himself with George W Bush, and invaded Iraq.
It's a shame, because he's done lots of good.
The Irish Peace Agreement being just one thing.
