"something"

If you really mean "something" beyond even Pray and Wish - just lip service (pl. don't mind), we have many great souls even at Yahoo! Answers who are really helpful and sincere in their approach to others without any of their personal interests being served - not even points (for best answer)!! It is indeed a great service without one's own sake. They may not acknowledge in reply to your question here, but their deeds speak. Basically, all humans are good at heart and at times this goodness gets reflected sometime or the other.

If you look at religion, I think this is the only way that they have it right. When they pray for someone, you have a lot of people concentrating there efforts on a single object. All this energy is very healing. It makes no difference what the belief is, only that they believe. It has nothing to do with believing in God, Jesus, or the holy ghost. You can substitute any of those entities for whatever suits you.

The point is that when you have good energy flowing, it makes no difference how much, there is no such thing as wasting it. The more you use, the more you create, the more you have. It is endless. The other side of this coin is that when you have so much negativity in the world, it only works against your ability to think positive about another person and do what you believe is right.

This world is full of self-centered people. So am I. We generally pray for ourselves first, then max for the person we love.

I say this because I have seen that in a bomb blast in our area, when people went to lookout for their kins & loved ones and bumped into strangers, they would ignore them and continue their search till they find their close-ones. Once they have found them, they walk away without bothering about other, whom they can save or just help. But nobody does that. Nobody wants to increase there problems.

Whenever I read about a need on the blogs, or hear about something on the news, like a bad fire here this week, I always hope for the best for the people affected.

I once saw a collision on the freeway, and I had to pull off to the side and cry. When the police came, they asked me if I knew anyone in the truck. I was just so worried about them, I couldn't drive for a while.

i am not as religious as i would like to be, so i dont really pray. but i do really genuinely hope for the well being of other people just to see them do well, everyday of my life. i hate seeing people unhappy or in a bad disposition, and my natural instinct is to try and make them feel better and just do something nice for them. or if there is nothing i can do i just hope everything gets better. i have a big weak spot for people who need help.

I pray for my children everyday. I pray for several other family members and friends who have no clue who God is . I do pray for myself so I can be the best parent, sister and friend I can be.

We all smile, laugh and live life for our own sake not for others.
