When can I tell if there is a pokemon event for diamond/pearl?
And if not can anyone with those pokemon trade? for em?

The best way to tell is to keep checking over at pokemon.com daily. You never know when it'll come out or how it'll come out so you always have to keep on checking and checking and checking.
Also to add to this. Only Japan has gotten I believe Darkai but not the event. The others as in Shaymin and Arceus, anyone who has them has definitely cheated for them.
