Currently, I have 2 D's(repeated twice already) in the same math course in community college. I want to transfer to a 4 year university and would like to know if I can retake the same math course again...for the third time. Maybe third time's the charm. It's the only class I'm struggling with. How would my third grade in the same course be calculated in the gpa and what would happen to the 2 D's?

Each school has its own rules about how many times you may repeat a course, so you would need to check what the policy is at your school. In my experience, usually you can take a class three times, but not more than that.

Generally, when you retake a course, since you don't get new course credits, the grade and the credits just replace the old ones, so GPA would include the most recent version of the course, but not the old one(s). The old ones do show up on your transcript, though, so the university to which you are transferring would know that you got the better grade only on the third try.

It all depends on the University. Some will not count the 2 past D's but MOST will weigh it into your GPA.
