Miss*Bear.

You got a point on not saying no to anyone during mid-sex.

Though to ruin a funny story he acting hinted so bad and acted so excited early on in the night that I guessed he was going to ask.

It was only our second date and we were kissing on the couch at his job. Then all of a sudden he says "I love you will you marry me?" I could tell he was joking and thought I'd teach him a lesson. So I decided to act like a nutso and got all excited and said yes. I thought that he would eventually say he was joking and call it off but he didn't. He didn't tell me he was joking until after we married. We had only known each other for a week. We married 2 1/2 months later. We will be married for 3 years on Aug

My Grandfather and Grandma knew each other from mutual friends (only 4 months). On day he came to my Grandma and said "Would you like to marry me?" Grandma said "I sure would" Then he says, "Okay, go get a syphillis test tommorow and then we will get married" My Grandma called her parents. They drove the two hours and they got married the next day. They had never dated. I've heard a lot of similar stories from that time period. They didn't have long engagements or date long. They just got married.

My other grandparents eloped right before Grandpa got shipped off the war. Both sets were married till death did they part.

Back when we smoked, I put her engagement ring around three cigs then in her pack. We were at a party and a mutual friend asked for a smoke. She reached in, pulled one out and handed it to the girl. (never noticed) So the friend asked again, my (now wife) then looked, like "I just gave you one" and opened the pack. She then saw the ring and got very excited. After the party we then went downtown Chicago to my 40' boat in Burnham Harbor on that warm summer evening and I officially asked her. That was over 21 years ago and we have been married ever since. Woo woo! By the way, we had dated only 3 months and were engaged for 1 1/2 years.

Very cute story by the way.
My husband purposed at the park we went to on our first date. There was this round table thing in the middle of a castle that spun around and on our first date we sat there talking until 2 in the morning. he had paid some one to wait their and make sure no one touched anything until we got there. He had covered it in roses and in the very middle was my ring. The place was lit up with candles, It was a fairy tale. he got down on one knee and said " I had a big speech planned but hey, you wanna get hitched" It was perfect and we had been together for 4 months and now over 5 years.

Gwenneth an I had know each other for 3 years and were aware of deep feelings for each other. The nearst we came to an official proposal was when Gwen suggested that we buy a house and live together. We did and lived through cloud and sunsine, joy and tears for 42 years until her death.
She is the most beautiful human bing I have ever known.

We'd been friends since the start of college, we started dating about a year and a half into our friendship and a year after that, he proposed.

He proposed around the anniversary date of our first date. In the same spot where he'd asked me to go out on a date with him. We were on a walk and he stopped me in mid step and asked me to marry him.

I cried. Now, we're getting married in our college town and then moving away to start the real world. *Sigh*. My wedding in Aug. 4th and I'm starting to get nervous!!!

He took me to the park and we were sitting together on a swing. He pulled a little box from his pocket and gave it to me to open. Inside was a promise ring. He asked me if I knew what it meant. I said no. he said....."that means I'm coming back for you." (he was military with orders over-seas)
we spent severral hours talking of our future and on the drive to take me home he said I almost forgot...will you marry me.

He was 20, I was 18 we'd been dating for exactly one week, but had grown up next door to each other and know each other for 11 years.

We've been married for 19+ years.

Mid sex - As if you're going to say no to anything during sex - he had it worked out well.

He took me to a really fancy jewellery shop just before it closed and had set up for one of the women to bring out a ring box and say to me - you should have a look at this ring it's on sale etc etc making things up, I opened it and inside it said will you marry me and had a ring in it.

Nah, seriously no. I'm not married, but that sounded pretty romantic.

We were together since high school, 6 years, and we were listening to an old Cd from those days, all of a sudden he asked. Pretty boring since we'd been together so long...

I am not engaged myself, but my girlfriend's brother asked in a funny way. He took her on a date to Chili's and asked her there. It was the location of their first date supposedly. Nice idea, but bad circumstances.

(Mid-sex is pretty funny too).

Lol...some men just know when to ask, mine basically did the same (I said yes) & then he got a ring and asked again formally.
