What is it with people? The celebrity worship in this country has gone crazy, and people wonder why other countries look down on America. Two people are dead because of this a**hole and yet some still have respect for him. Those of you that do do realize that his character was not real. You say he loved his family, yet he killed them. That is like saying that a school shooter loved his school. Do you guys even understand what love is. You don't kill those whom you love, you just don't, this seems like it should be some unspoken rule, but apperently it must be spelled out. I've seen others called a heartless monsters because they said just what I'm saying which is ironic given the subject. So what, it's heartless to belive that it is wrong for a man to kill his wife and child? Respect him for what he did in the ring? What he did in the ring, what does that give him a get out of Hell free card? All he did was nothing but a more physical form of acting, nothing spectacular.

Lol, framed, you guys do know that they those rivalries aren't real right? and besides, people actually belive that someone broke into his house, spaced the killing of his family hours apart, made him place fake calls to WWE personel, and hang himself? You think anyone could make HIM hang himself? What, kill yourself or we'll shoot you?

Lol future, no one would care, I suppose my family would care, why, because I haven't killed them. F*** his "skills", so he can hop around a ring, so can all the other wrestlers. What's there to be jelous of, he's a murdering douche bag, and I don't envy his one way ticket to hell...

Good question, but the answer isn't as cut and dried as you might think. We have turned into a country of media junkies. instead of believing in the heroes living beside us every day (firefighters and police, for example), we have to believe that the person on the tube is all-powerful and benevolent. Without trying to get religious, the whole "false idol" thing really is true. The more you put your faith in the weak, the more you'll be disappointed.
His actions in the ring were acting, nothing more. Respecting him for those accomplishments is like respecting Will Smith for beating up an alien in "Independence Day".
Unfortunately, your assumption that he couldn't love his family is incorrect. Roidrage is serious and overpowering. The steroids create a form of mental illness that can't be controlled by free will. What's worse, quitting can also be fatal. Just look at the final days of Lyle Alzado. The only true prevention to this type of tragedy is to stop the roid mills and start penalising those that turn a blind eye to steroid use. If the leaders in the "Wrestling Industry" are real, they need to crack down on this issue. However, since we know they aren't real, the media moguls that drive the industry need to be held accountable.

I agree. I just told someone else that what they see in the ring is a 'persona', an actor, not the real person. You can't say you know someone - wrestler, actor, athlete, etc. - unless you are a part of their real lives. People get all messed up in their heads over it. I mean, come on. This guy had a beautiful wife and kids and had a $900,000 home and made $500,000 a year! What more could he have wanted? He is a coward murderer who chose a coward's death rather than face the music for what he did. And people need to stop blaming the steroids because he killed his wife and child at different times, not in a sudden rage or something. It was calculated and it was cruel and I have no respect for someone who would take the life of a child!

I don't judge the Virginia Tech killer or school shooters in general. One can only be considered "heartless" if what one did was for one's own benefit- serial killers, for example, are not heartless. Only morons judge people with serious psychological conditions. The man is dead, let him and his tragically lost family be. Btw, you really need to get your facts straight before judging Benoit's actions towards his son in particular. Benoit himself at least considered it a mercy killing. Go to tpww.com, there are a few references on the front page.
A more physical form of acting, my ***. Youy can hate Chris Benoit, but you don't insult professional wrestling.

If you will listen to people you deaf idiot, people are talking about his "in ring" skills, not him personally. You need to get a reality check and understand what is going on. As far as a person, I think what he did(killing family) was awful at the least. Besides who the hell are you to judge? Try getting off of you fat a** and do the "jumping around" that he did!

you know what you son of a *****, don't ever talk about America like that. Other countries just wish that they had our economy and our world status. And second of all, you are just like those narrow minded dicklickers who only look at Benoit as a murderer. Well he was the best technical wrestler in history and worked hard every day of his life. He put his body and his life on the line so that you and all the other citizens of this great nation would be entertained. And your just jealous because he is better than you. You could go jump off a cliff and it wouldn't make a difference to any one in this world. But to the millions of people, like me , who have watched Benoit for the last ten years and have grown to respect him almost as much as our parents, this was that was a sad and dreary day. So back off you motherf****r!!!
