There's a couple of ways you can do it.

Every character has a code, as long as you know the code you can add any character. The code for the ° sign is 248 - press down the Alt key, keep it pressed down and using the numbers of the right of the keyboard type in 248.

Here's a full list of the codes http://www.asciitable.com/

Another way is to copy and paste it from some other application such as MS Word. Here's some common symbols, you might want to copy and paste them for future reference...

¼ ½ ¾ ⅓ ⅔ ⅛ ⅜ ⅝ ⅞

← ↑ → ↓ ↔ ↕

€ ¥ ™ © ® ● · ℅ ☺ ☻ ☼ ♀ ♂ ♠ ♣ ♥ ♦ ♫ ♯

∞ π α β ∑

° ¹ ² ³ ≈ √ ≠ ≤ ≥ ≡ ‰ ±

Lets give it a go then....

Today it will be around 18 - that was alt 0176 - I've tried inserting asci before and it didn't work then either.

I would prefer it to be around 26 - that was me trying to insert a little degree symbol - but internet explorer doesn't have an insert option (after you have shown the menu bar - I have latest versions of IE and Vista running)

So I guess you and I will have to hope for 26 deg. temp today as you can only insert the little " o " if you're in a word processing program I think!

Try this,
Alt 0176
use the num pad on the rightmost side of the keyboard to do that.
If you want it shorter just copy the degree sign after you write it once, and press Ctrl-V
anytime you want to use it.
