Not at all. Conditioning is the key. I saw a website called Speedology.com that really might help. They really work with conditioning for athletes. Also, SportsWorx.com can help with the whole process of getting to play sports in college.

To be honest, I think you're a little bit overweight for your height.
The ideal playing weight for a 6'4"-6'5" player would be around 200-220lbs.
Try losing some weight to improve your speed, stamina & conditioning.

It is hard to answer this question. Do you know the player "Big Baby"? He is very heavy, but in shape.
#1 CARDIO - you must have great cardio-vascular.
#2 FLEXIBILITY - you must be able to be quick.
#3 BODY TONE - you must have firm dense muscle mass.
I am a coach. I have worked with young players and change can come very quick if they are dedicated to improve.
Cardio- thats pumping daily your heart and lungs to the max starting at 20 mins - twice daily. One way is in a Y indoor pool, vigorous excercise in water like a mad man till your on fire tired. And water will let you also extend your range of motion far beyond what you can do on dry land. Finish by fast swimming various strokes as if your in an Olympic race.
FLEX- being able to move in every direction, head, shoulders, arm reach, trunk twisting, hip turning, body leaning in all directions, reaching to the floor surface to over your head with speed, motion in verticle leaps, lateral quick feet, backwards running with balance.
TONE-every muscle strengthened by lifting light weight in multiple reps in fluid movements in all directions. Adding resistence training with flex cords so your pushing and pulling arms and legs. Limited heavy lifting but not to your single rep max to avoid muscle pulls.
Stay off of hard concrete surface. Workout on wood or tight carpet.
Go to parks. Find gentle slooping hills. Run uphill, forward, backwards, sideways to add lig & tendon strength, and balance in movement.
SHOOT!!! from every position, with both hands. Staight up looks, sideways, back to the basket from every point on the floor. And shoot to go straight in and off the back board.
DRIBBLE figure 8's around 2 cones with both hands.
Find a player better than you who will work out with you.
In 6 weeks in you can get in much better shape. In 90 days you can be in incredible shape if you really are driven and not a quiter.
Keep a log book daily. Track everything you do once every 7 days. Watch your improvement. Get excited. Mean it!!!

That is the perfect size. Try out for the team and if you make it the coaches will whip you into shape in no time.
