I love AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL (or "Footy" as it's called there) myself. The players do not use the padding American players do or the helmets either; the playing field is 150 yards long instead of our 100 yards; and the scoring is different ( 2 sets of goal posts--2 tall ones in the middle give you six points if the ball goes through them, and 2 shorter ones on either side of the tall ones. If the ball goes between a tall pole and a short pole, it is called a "behind" and scores 1 point). I have seen games with final scores over 100 points each. Like soccer, the game has 90 minute halves. Unlike soccer, players can carry the ball and run with it and/or kick it if they get cornered by the opposite team. Also like soccer, they have a World Cup championship series every 4 years. The game is usually between October and March--their spring and summer seasons.
