Ride On
The memories were fading
and only the pain remained.
He locked a door inside of him
'cause love is wild
and can't be tamed.
The path he chose to follow
he knew and understood.
He rode it hard into the wind
to follow
where it would.
He came upon a crossroads
another traveller blocked his path.
"I carry a heavy load", he said,
she looked at him
and laughed.
(She said)
"The other side of a sunrise,
the sun sets
and the day is done.
When you wake from the dreams you've have
a new journey's
just begun.
I'm riding (ride on)
the wild ride
I want you along
I'm riding (ride on)
the wild ride
please come along."
As the wave broke over their bodies,
the wind let out a sigh.
Thunderheads were rolling
and lightning
streaked the sky.
The sparks turned into fire
drove a train into the night.
Throttle left wide open
they ignored
the caution light.
When the dust had finally settled
their seperate paths came into light
though he knew she'd found her home
his was still
out of sight
(he said)
"the other side of a sunset
the sun rises
a day has begun
Awakened to the dreams I have
my journey
is not done".
(she said)
"Keep riding (ride on)
the wild ride
I can't come along.
Keep riding (ride on)
the wild ride
find where you belong".

Sounds to me like, they are very in love but something is holding them from being able to love each other, and because of this they decide to let each other go.

The memories were fading
and only the pain remained.
He locked a door inside of him
'cause love is wild
and can't be tamed.

These lines seem to be saying that he lost someone very close to him that he loved, and buried his pain deep within himself. He locked himself away from the "wildness of love".

The path he chose to follow
he knew and understood.
He rode it hard into the wind
to follow
where it would.

He had firmly decided that he would be alone whereever life chose to take him.

He came upon a crossroads
another traveller blocked his path.
"I carry a heavy load", he said,
she looked at him
and laughed.

He met someone else.

(She said)
"The other side of a sunrise,
the sun sets
and the day is done.
When you wake from the dreams you've have
a new journey's
just begun.
I'm riding (ride on)
the wild ride
I want you along
I'm riding (ride on)
the wild ride
please come along."

She's into him, and wants to entice him to lay down his burden and try again with her.

As the wave broke over their bodies,
the wind let out a sigh.
Thunderheads were rolling
and lightning
streaked the sky.
The sparks turned into fire
drove a train into the night.

They are intimate. Passions he's locked away come out. They get quickly and heavily involved.

Throttle left wide open
they ignored
the caution light.
When the dust had finally settled
their seperate paths came into light
though he knew she'd found her home
his was still
out of sight

She was in love with him, but he was still restless and had this had just been a stop a long the path.

(he said)
"the other side of a sunset
the sun rises
a day has begun
Awakened to the dreams I have
my journey
is not done".

He's following something more important than the love they have.

(she said)
"Keep riding (ride on)
the wild ride
I can't come along.
Keep riding (ride on)
the wild ride
find where you belong".

She releases him to his path

There was a really nice story wrapped up in this song.

The first part I enjoyed until you got to the line (she said) from there on I can not see what it has to do with the earlier lines. there are words and phases I like but for the most they don't fit. It might sound different when set to music.

I think she loves him a very much, and he loves her, but she realizes that his passions are too great for her to be apart of, and for that she must let him pursue them, without her, because she realizes that's where his true love lies.
