lots of flooding in England. i just wondered whether america gives a crap? if it is in the news how far from the top story?

There was a mention on the national news, but nothing on the local news. I learned most of what I've heard about it from UK friends on funtrivia.com.

I often thought it was odd the lugubrious amount of attention European news agencies spent on events in the US that weren't even news worthy here at home. A tropical storm (not even a class one hurricane) for example gets huge play in Germany. Somehow I thought it was intended to discourage so many Europeans from migrating to the land of opportunity, but I see now that it was because y'all care so much.
Sorry about the flooding old chap, hope your family is safe and well. As for "giving a crap" I expect Great Britain is a big boy who can take care of himself. Still I'll pray for you and your countrymen - Hail Britannia!

I saw it on the main page of Yahoo, some flood in the UK.

I heard about it. 3 people died.

But then, 38 people have died from the heat in Greece, Italy and Romania.
