i had surgery two weeks ago on my knee. i had a lateral release and a mpf ligament repair. (to stop my chronic knee dislocation and to fix my mal-aligned patella....

I am terrified of physical therapy tomorrow. I havent bent my leg in 2 weeks and im just soooooo scared of the pain when i bend it.

Anyone have any advice, your experiences. dont lie, i want the truth about the pain!!!

i also had surgery on my knee, but to repair a partially torn acl. i was in a knee immobilizer (couldn't bend my knee at all)for 6 weeks. when i went to physical therapy they were very nice, and didn't push me to bend my knee any further than it was comfortable. they may use heat which will relax the muscles, making it easier to bend your knee. at first it might feel stiff when you bend it, but trust me, it gets better. Good Luck!

I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. For your first day in therapy there probably wont be too much activity. Your therapist will probably just take some measurements (like how far you CAN bend your knee), it'll probably hurt a little but - I didn't experience anything that was horrible though. Hang in there, it'll get easier as you get more into it. Good Luck.

I haven't had knee surgery or pain like that, just some minor pain from tendinitis. I did have physical therapy, though, and I can't imagine that they would want to torture you and cause agony. I think their goal would be to get you moving with as little pain as possible. They'll probably use a lot of ice on it. From my experience, those people are very good and know what they're doing.

Dont worry.
I am a Physical Therapist from India..
Usually, your pain will be treated first before your leg is bent.. So dont worry about the pain...

Besides NO PAIN, NO GAIN.
