There are semi-aquatic newts (these are salamanders, rather than lizards) that are sold, but these may not be the best choice to keep with fish. The newts need to be able to get out of the water, so this means you'd have to lower the water level in the tank - that's not so good for the aquarium filter.

The one you would be most likely to see in pet stores is firebelly newt: http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Cynops/C_orientalis.shtml

If you can find crested newts, these are really cool: http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Triturus/Triturus_sp.shtml

a newt is a small grecko-like lizard which can live in an aquatic environment but only as long as you provide it with a place to lay out of the water, and a few leaves to lay under. a plastic leaf from a small plant, such as a fake ivy, is sufficient for shade, and a realistic treelimb will be acceptable for a place to lay and stay out of the water. the water around that end should not be deep, an inch or two, at most while the rest of the tank can slope down to deeper water for the fish. you'll need to use a larger aquarium to accommodate the loss in depth at one end. (for a deep aquarium, a few large bricks will be good filler to take up space from the deeper part of the tank while allowing good depth for the fish to occupy in the remainder.

I have a Fire Belly Newt in my aquarium, they need to get out of the aquariums once in a while, and what i do is when i see him floating on top waiting for me to grab him, i get him and put him on top of the glass on top of the aquarium close to the edge on the back that is open so when ever he is ready he jumps back into the water and hangs out in the bottom.
