Babies are well protected by a lot of fluid in a sac that completely surrounds them.. if a T-shirt is tight but still comfortable to the mom, it is no danger to the baby.
More power to her, in my opinion!! Show off that belly! It's nothing to be ashamed of, but rather to be celebrated!

I think they are just trying to scare her, so she will be more modest! Yet, it is her body and her baby bump and if she wants to show it off they should leave her alone. Yet, they might not stop telling her those things, so she can either ignore them, or wear less revealing clothes around them, if she just doesn't want to hear it anymore.
Oh, tight teas and tanks won't squish the baby. As she gets bigger, her belly may not be comfy in tight clothes. Yet, everyone is different! : )

It is highly unlikely that she is squishing her baby. It sounds to me like this family is looking for an excuse to get "mom 2 b" to cover up. I believe that the pregnant body is beautiful. It is unfortunate that this is happening. Hopefully this woman will find a middle ground that will keep her happy and feeling good, and keep her nervous relatives quiet.

What?! That's one of the silliest things I've ever heard! I think that is just their way of telling her they don't like the way she dresses. It's not harming the baby. There is so much protection around the uterus that a simple t-shirt will not harm the baby. They're just "old fashioned" and would prefer she covered up a little more. I say let her show off her bump!

Wow.. I love how ridiculous old people can be. The baby will be fine. Trust me if the baby felt squished it'd be kicking her all the time for more room. Lol. Tell her to wear what ever makes her comfy! *smiles*

I dont think a tight shirt will squish the baby unless the shirt is made literally of some strong rubber bands the press deep down into her abodemn. it may look tacky but will not harm the baby

As your belly begins to grow, you do need to adjust your clothing. There are many reasons why not to wear tight clothing during pregnancy such as:
1) Tight clothes can put pressure on the fetus.
2) During pregnancy your body temperature increases. Therefore, wearing light, breathable clothing (made of cotton or wool) and possibly a few layers of clothing during the cooler months will assist you in maintaining your comfort, making it easier to adjust to being indoors, outdoors or in air-conditioned environments.
3) Tight clothes can cause :
Varicose veins- During pregnancy there is a huge increase in the amount of blood in the body. This can cause veins to enlarge. Plus, pressure on the large veins behind the uterus causes the blood to slow in its return to the heart.
4) Can cause you to have heartburn
There are also many more reasons. Try this site:

It should give you some more info on the subject.

If the shirt is so tight that it's leaving red marks on her skin, then it's probably not the best, but it's not going to hurt the baby!! They are just old fashion!

I'm 35.5 wks pregnant and that's all I wear is tight maternity tank tops! I don't see why there would be anything wrong with it. I've even wore them to my appointments and my doctor hasn't said a word about it! The way I look at it is if the pregnant woman is comfortable....leave her alone!
