I was thinking something small. She's already got a vibe from an earlier present.
The note/book sound good. Any suggestions on note content (what to avoid/include), or books. I'm not too familiar with romance novels, and she won't have a lot of time to spend on it as we have a 3 year old and she works.

In your note, tell her how she affects you - that she makes your blood race, your pulse pound.... Tell her the specific places you want to kiss her when you see her again - the back of her knee, the small of her back, the crook of her neck, the curve of her hip, any place you know is an erogenous zone for her. Incidentally, these are all things my fiance' wrote in an email that I found waiting for me when I got to work on Valentine's Day........I was definitely thinking of him through the day, and more than ready for our evening together!
You sound like a thoughtful, loving and *fun* husband, and whatever you do, I'm sure your wife is going to be eagerly anticipating your home-coming!

Leave her a list of reasons you'll miss her. she'll cherish it and won't be able to wait for you to come back. women like gifts that will make them feel good emotionally, and this will do the trick.

try leaving her some personalized coupons that she can redeem whenever she wants, like "this coupon is good for one evening out at your choice of restaurant and a chick flick", or "this coupon is good for one sweet night of lovemaking and relaxation," or "this coupon is good for one full body massage." ive done coupons like this and its a fun thing to do. plus after she uses them, if she enjoys it you can always give the coupons back again and start all over. :) have fun

Leave her a romance novel. It's more girly and doesn't say, "I expect sex when I get back!" It's nice that you want to get her something.
