Yes. I think I am a control freak. When I am in the dark, I don't know what is around me. I couldn't do anything if someone suddenly attacked me from behind in the dark. I would feel helpless. That is the reason I am afraid... because I have no control over what could happen, and I feel helpless. I guess it is one of those fear-of-the-unknown situations. It doesn't help that the dark plays tricks with your mind, it seems. That may sound a little crazy, but it is true.

Only an idiot isn't afraid of not being able to see anything.
The dark of course is not the thing. its the absence of light withjout which our eyes do not function.
You might fall and break you neck, or smack you head, walk into a door or off the edge of a cliff.
Its the unseeable unknown that should make everyone fearful.

Not usually. But definitely after watching/hearing something really scary!! I know I was when I was really little, but I am fine now, as I know there is nothing to be afraid of, and there is a light right next to me i can easily switch on if I need to!

Yes, I'm 38 and a half and it terrifies me. It all started one drunken night in September of 87 when I was drinking many beers to celebrate the Redskins winning a huge game against someone (long time since they were good, i know). I then decided to walk around outside and happened to meet a woman. The next morning I woke up next to her and screamed in terror as she was over 300 pounds. (in weight not in British hooker money). From that night onwards I've slept with a nighty-night light on. amen

I am petrified of the dark. My sister and Brother scared the crap out of me growing up telling me dracula was outside my window, when it was the cable hitting the window from the wind. and i also believe in ghosts which scares me in the dark. And of course watching friday the 13th and jason and excorcist etc,,,,,, didnt help. I hate the Dark>>>>you?

No one is truly afraid of the dark, they are afraid of the unknown. Just like my niga S Mandel was tellin me- "ain't no niga afraid of the dark, shiit, they just afraid of the mothafukin unknown." If you could see everything when it was dark, all yall mothafukas wouldn't be scared. Shiiiiiiit, i aint scared cuz i know the god dam truth. my 44 make sure all yall kids dont grow. Yea niga, respect.

Yes , because I used to watch allot of scary movies
when I was young, and my cousins used to get a kick out of
scaring me when it was dark
