I've got it down to the two choices with a $448 difference, the difference is the processor - AMD or Intel - battery lasts longer on 6400 for some reason, bluetooth option w/6400 (don't know how to use) Wireless network card is Intel Pro on 6400.

I would like to keep this laptop for the 4 years through college, so I don't mind spending the extra $ as long as it's not wasted. I like to have lots of programs running at the same time so the processor is very important. I'm familiar with the intel name & not the AMD. This is my 1st laptop, I have main computer at home, this will be my main computer though during the week when school starts. HELP!!!! PLEASE Need to decide.

Do you have links to the fully configured systems? The Turion is a nice mobile processor, but the Core 2 Duo is best (it also has lower power consumption which contributes to the Inspiron 6400 having a longer battery life)

First of all, disregard the models with Sempron processors- that's AMD's budget chip which competes with Celeron, and wouldn't be good for heavy multitasking.

If your processor choices boil down the Turion X2 vs the T2080, go with the AMD system. If you're looking at a Core 2 Duo vs the Turion X2, then go with the Intel system.
