I need a notebook w/ a directx 10 graphics card w/ at least around 512mb, 17" or more screen, and windows vista. All for around or under $2000. The only one I have found so far is by HP. Does anyone else know of a laptop w/ similar specs?

That will be a rare combination...

Only a handful of notebooks have DX10 graphics adapters. The overwhelming majority sport integrated video chipsets on the motherboard, and the ones which actually have dedicated video adapters tend to be entry-level to midrange.

Futhernore, 17" is pretty much the largest screen you're gonna find (otherwise they wouldn't be very portable) If you need a larger display, you'd have to hook up the laptop to an external monitor. .

Here are a few with Geforce 8000 series video. The Asus G2S has everything you want but is pricey at $2100. The Asus A7S looks great at $1700 but only has 128mb of video memory. The two Cyberpower models have 512mb of video memory, but only 15" screens..

You better look for more ram than that. 2 GB is the minimum I would recommend with vista. It is a hog! 512 in minimal and I've seen it run in 1GB and it will make the hard drive thrash with all of the bells and whistles turned on. Try this site below for suggestions.
