Probably the stranger because most pets can swim if they have to. Who knows mayhbe the stranger can too then all is well! Hey wait a minute, if the ship has already sunk we're all up Sh*t creek!

If you save the pet its going to die within, what , 5 or 10 years and what then? The stranger may be rich and reward you with lots of love and money so you could buy another pet and be rich and feel better about saving someone who may change the world ya know.

If both of them are within my reach, I'd take the pet in arm, because they have less swimming power, and help the stranger to safety. Animals need guides. But I would never leave the human behind.

I'd think the stranger has enough power to save him/herself than the pet... If they're within i'd yell the stranger to come me and the pet so all three can be saved if they're within reach

Depends on when my pet peed or pooed on my carpet last, or if she rolled around in the dirt just after a bath, then got up in my bed. Also, does the stranger smell like a dumpster or day old 40? All these have to be taken into account for me to make such an important decision as this.

First my pet-it wasn't his choice to come on the Trip and he's totally dependent on me. Plus hes only 5 lbs I dont think he could wetgh me down so much i couldnt help the stranger

They both can be replaced but a human life can't.
I'm a horrible swimmer though. So the stranger would have to save me!
And my only pets are fish --> fish swim.
