Listen to my noise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HAtzetbgeQ

Contrary to the popular belief, giraffes DO make noises in order to communicate. However, most of them are impossible for humans to hear without equipment. Giraffes are capable of making sounds at very low frequencies, similar to elephants. When they are played back at a frequency a human can hear, it sounds like a lion. Bizarre, but awesome.

Zebras do make sounds similar to horses, but they make an array of other, more distinct, sounds as well.

Penguins make different noises depending on what species it is. An African black-footed penguin, also known as the jackass penguin makes a call similar to a donkey (or jackass).Other species of penguins makes sounds that sound "more bird-like".

Hope I answered your question.

Some are loud, some less so.
There are differences also between the noises made by vocal equiment and those made by interaction with the environment.

The noises made by elephants, giraffe and zebra when they move through the plain may be used by predators to locate them.

Seals find penguins to kill snd eat because penguins splash in water.

Reproducing noises of animals in words differs in different languages.

For instance:
Russian dogs say "Goff, Goff."
American dogs say "Bow wow."

Because of this difficulty, dogs communicate best by sniffing each other.

Jonathan Swift gave the sound that he heard to the name of the Noble horses.

I would just say, "Whinney," but Swift wrote something that is hard to spell.

I asked my friend once about the Giraffe because she used to work in the zoo. She told me that they will grunt, and sometimes moo, like a cow. But they never really make noises.

Zebras I would expect them to be the same as horses

Penguins make clicks and other bird noises
