i am being harassed by a firm who claim to represent a site i have never subscribed to!!! they are able to get their "bill" on my screen when i switch on. it remains there for 10mins. i have emailed them about 20 times!! they do not answer even the most basic of questions eg how can i be owe money if i didn't make an agreement with this site!!! can anyone tell me to deny them this enforced "access" to my computer??

sounds like you got a bit of spyware on your computer. Do a very thorough virus/spyware check on your system, and in the future, be sure to use a popup blocker. Also if you know their isp/website, you can add it to your block cookies list.

Don't continue to contact them, they are the ones that infected your computer, and have no intention of helping you.

Microsoft Defender is a good free choice for virus/malware detection, and Spybot, which is free, is highly recommended everywhere. Also, you can download and install either the Yahoo or Google toolbar - both of them come with a popup blocker.
