Depending on the purpose. If i need to get to the destination, i won't choose train. If i am going for sight seeing e.g. New Zealand, travelling by train is a pleasure. I get to enjoy the breeze and scenery is fantastic!

I traveled from Texarkana to Minneapolis, and it was way cool, except for the coming in late at Chicago and having only minutes, instead of a couple of hours, to get across that huge station to the next train...
