I don't know what "sc," "Sc in FL," or what a "turn stitch" is. Can you please tell me, or can you suggest simple (with pictures) instructions for baby booties? Thank you!

I am almost done with my double stitch blanket, but I don't know how to make complex things like booties, nor do I understand the abbreviations. Thank you!

sc in fl means single crochet in the front loop only. If you look at your work from the top, you will see that there are two loops, almost like a v. Fl means front loop, bl means back loop. A turning stitch or turning chain is the stitch or chain when you are getting ready to start a new row or round.

Ive got here across that when I crochet some thing super and the perimeters dont stay at recent, as interior the entire piece of artwork is changing dimensions, i'm lacking a turning stitch. once you attain the top of a row, crochet one million chain for a row of single crochet, 2 chains for a row of double etc. turn the artwork, and initiate working into the 2nd stitch in...the turning stitch (with the chains) will appear as if its no longer sitting flush with the the remainder of the row, so the atitch next to that's the place to place the 1st "actual" stitch of each and every row. conserving a watch in this could help save the dimensions even without counting all those stitches each and every time!

SC is single crochet. If you are using a pattern from a book, crochet magazine, or a pamphlet, there should be a section with pictures showing how to make the stitches required for your pattern. There should also be a listing of abbreviations and what they mean.

Here's a good website to help you:
