I must admit that tourists are indeed horrible. Some treat islanders as nobodys. I have often wondered what brings about that behavior.
You see when anyone visits a foreign country they need to learn that the lifestyle is different. Caribbean people greet each other when they pass by and they expect the same from the visitors.
May times when islanders attempt to be friendly they are brushed off like they are nobodys so that may explain some of their behaviors.
I do understand that everyone has their own personalities and respond differently.
Tyra there are two sides to every story.

Can you believe how rude tourists can be? I'm not trying to defend rude behaviour by my fellow islanders. I would just like for you to take into consideration the ratio of tourists to islanders in a given year. You may have been sweet as pie to everyone here but darling, please belive me when I say that there are two in front of you who cannot believe they haven't been fanned with palm fronds upon their arrival! As an American, I have been on the receiving end of other American's DEPLORABLE behavior as tourists here in the VI. It's no wonder the rest of the world rates American tourists as the most ignorant and least respectful of their culture.

i did no longer think of they have been good in any respect as quickly as I first began following hockey in 2007. They sucked! Then I appeared into their historic past and found out that they have got been extremely a notably good team decrease back interior the day. This team needs to rebuild, so, if I had a wager to take over their team, there are various things i might tweak. first of all, i might think of approximately shifting the team to Las Vegas or around the Dakota factors. Why you ask? If I moved them to Vegas i might have the skill to get a great number of money from the followers (because of the fact all the casino vendors are prosperous) and then i might take despite money is left from everyday fees to sign megastar unfastened brokers for some years. If it works out, this is huge, yet each so often once you do this it does not do something for the team. If that doesn't artwork, i will commerce the super call gamers I even have for some suitable possibilities, so my coaches can develop the gamers they like them to be stepped forward.

Tyra: I don't know what happened in your situation. You may very have well come across one individual who had a bad day and took it out on you. The fact of the matter is that some tourist believe that when they visit the islands the locals are at their every call. This is not so. Yes the people are generally friendly but in return they would like to be respected.

I'm not from the VI but I'm from a Caribbean island. So, if the person was rude I appologize, but also look at your action and determine if you did something to offend that person or group of people.

i agree with pinke

and americans are spoiled ~ yes we may be americans but we don't have every single thing and you americans are the rudest people i have met personally

1. we are not rude its how you people treat us we may depend on tourism but if you're rude we'll send the same treatment and feelings towards u

2. you are going to our home our island and you ppl think you are so much better just bc you are from the states which ain't even self true

3. we don't have as much as you ppl do but you treat us like $hit and expect us to treat you friendly

same rules apply here as they do in the states ~ yea we may call you yankees but its w/e

you ppl from the states are quick to judge us and give us attitude and make fun of the way we live

we're not rude its all in how u darn tourists treat us ~ there are some tourists that are kind and we're kind back but if we feel like you have a problem with us or anything its how it is

Treat others the way u would like to be treated ~ if u believe we were rude then don't come back simple as that

but people now think that since they saw college hill that they are better than us and our life hasn't changed our view of ppl may have changed but simply don't be close minded or rude or anything bc the same treatment will be returned to u
