for a hundred billion dollars, you could easily build a house whose roof didn't leak.

Billions of dollars and 10 years work is enough to put 12 men on the Moon, so if we spend billions of dollars and years of work on just your house, I bet we could stop the roof from leaking.

Because NASA doesn't build houses, and no one has 100 million dollars to build a house (except maybe Bill Gates).

My house is 99 years old, and does not leak.

Maybe you need a properly built OLD house- real dimensional lumber, a basement, etc- instead of a new one.
