Hi, im 15 years old and for the start of the summer I would like to find a New york acting studio/school that I can go to, i want to become big but like all actors i gotta start small, so does anyone kno of a good school to go to PREFERABLE that is CHEAP meaning not alot of money but a good school, any help, thnx

Hi,

here is a school that I can personally recommend. I went there a couple of years ago and took an incredible 6-week intensive course of study which consisted in Meisner technique, voice, movement, scene study, audition class, Shakespeare and career mentoring.

Excellent program. So much so that I decided to continue my studies at that school. They have a whole program you can go through with various levels of Meisner technique and an advanced performance workshop.

NYFA is good, their summer program is about 6 weeks long or so. Outside of NY, University of the Arts Summer Institute is the next best thing and I think you'll get more out of it because there's so much to do there. Acting isn't just about that, it's about life experiences too which Uarts gives you.
