I want to buy an X1600 pro iceQ 256mb bcz is a good card, and i game occasionally with some old game, like NFS.MW, Doom 3...i use a lot picture editing, photoshop, and watch movies...
in other hand ,from what I've read the 8500GT accelerates most of the process anyway, something reflected in my CPU load....so which one is worth to buy...X1600 pro or 8500GT
my spec: x2 3800+,2gb ram,200gb hdd, os: windows vista

For gaming, the 8500GT ddr3 could be comparable to the X1600 Pro. The 8500GT ddr2 is slower. BUT the 8500GT would excel in HD videos.

Since you are using Vista, check out the 8600GT. It is a bit faster than a 7600GT and has plenty of overclocking headroom.

The 8500GT is just slightly better, but just slightly. If all you need in the way of gaming are old games, it should be alright, but if you want anything more recent, you might want to spend a few extra dollars on a better cards, 8600GT for example. Despite being fairly close in numbering and price, there is a fairly sizeable difference in performance between the two.
