I think the congestion has gone to your head, you silly !
Just rub on some good old Vicks Vap-o-rub !
It will help loosen it.

Thats a great question. At work in the ICU our patient beds are basically "magic fingers" beds. Vibration does help to "break up" congestion by mobilizing secretions in your lungs. I would get a good massager like the ones that are a chair mat. Good old tried and true coughing and deep breathing help tremendously (although can be more painful than a nice vibrating massage). You should relax with the massager for awhile and then do some coughing an deep breathing and you should get some improvement. Also keeping hydrated is good for keeping secretions thinner and easier to mobilize.

Well, they do use chest and back pounding and vibrating vests to loosen the lung congestion in cystic fibrosis patients.
Don't try to tough this out too long if it doesn't get better soon, Chris. You may need to see a doctor and get some antibiotics if this progresses to bronchitis or pneumonia. Take care.

hahahahahaha! I doubt it. But it's worth a try. Sit in the bathroom with Hot Hot water running in the shower and just sit there (like a steam room). That will loosen some of the congestion.

Probably not...but if you get on the nearest bus and put that same vibrator on the leg of the man next to you I am sure he would punch the congestion out of your chest.

I think it could because my Dr. told me to tap different places on my sons chest when he has an asthma attack in order to loosen the mucous. There are different medicines that you can buy over-the-counter also--Mucinex is one. If all else fails, you may have to visit the Doc and get an antibiotic and expectorant, or maybe even an inhaler. Good Luck.
