No, but I did manage to snatch a child from the jaws of one, once. His mother gave me the stink-eye for breaking his shoelace.

Actually I carry a key to the escalator fro just such an emergency.
No, I have never been stuck.
Yes, you can get stuck in an escalator and it is not a pretty sight if you do.
No details but it is like my chainsaw accident only worse because the off button is at the base of the escalator only near the spot for the key.
As for losing your clothing, that happens quite a bit, just not to me. (On the escalator that is)
The elevator is hit or miss. I have used freight elevators from time to time and they get stuck quite a bit but I know how to unstick them too.
Passenger elevators are more complicated but don't break down that often. Never been stuck in one of those.
And No, I have never been stuck in the stairwell either. I am sure it is possible but it seems unlikely.

No, because you can walk down the steps. When he was about 4 yrs. old, one of my son's shoe laces got caught between the moving escalator steps and a quick thinking shopper near him saw the problem and immediately grabbed him and kicked his shoe lace free. I'm forever thankful to that shopper.
My son and I were caught in Macvy's dept. store elevator once. It was between floors. We used the elevator telephone and called for help. My 15 yr. old son was outside in the store because he had gone to another part of the store to look at something else and we were supposed to meet at a certain place -- we never made it. The fact that we were separated is what bothered me most at the time. When the power went out, so did the air conditioner and it began to get stuffy so we just sat on the floor and waited until the store manager could find someone to pry the door open and lower a ladder for us to climb out. We all got a free lunch (anything on the menu in the cafe) and a taxi ride home that day.
Another time we were in a shopping mall elevator when it stalled with the door closed: we banged & hollered. Some workmen sitting in a coffee shop across the aisle heard the commotion and used a huge crowbar and promptly forced open the door that time.
Those were the only times -- I don't make it a habit.

first of all...you cant really get stuck in an escalator because
1. you dont go in an escalator
2. you can just walk up if they are broken
3. bad grammar: stucked (stuck) on an escalator
thank you, have a nice day

"An escalator never breaks... it just becomes stairs" -Mitch Hedberg (he was hysterical)
Anyway, no. I got stuck in an elevator more than once though, what are the odds of that?!

Yes, once; for a little while- with several other people. Weird experience, but not scary, the building only had 5 floors :)
