Me too, I drop my cell phone, and buckle my seat belt, use my turn signal and turn to get away from him/her. I have even pulled into someones driveway pretending it's my house...

you're meant to be a vehicle's length for each 10 mph you're traveling. in case you have been going 30 mph, then you want 3 vehicle lengths between you and the motor vehicle past to you. you're admiting right here you're a million vehicle length at the back of the cop. i think for you yet you're admitting publically which you have been on his "bumper" . Wil be annoying which you will get off of this offense as lengthy as you do no longer make this Q & A get to courtroom. Your protection is blown at this factor. in basic terms way out of this became in case you have been going 10 mph = a million vehicle length between you and the cop.

I am a former deputy sheriff and I know from experience that when following someone it is habit to run their plates. What you have to remember is that cars are stolen every day and the type of car you are driving could be "close" to what they are looking for. Be patient and follow the traffic laws and the officer will move on to other things.

I don't know why I get nervous when a cop drives behind me. I obey the driving laws and follow everything by the book.

The only reason I constantly look behind me is to make sure that his lights didn't go on. Even if I am doing everything right, they always find SOMETHING!

I honestly think it is a natural reaction for people to get nervous when a cop is anywhere near you. Not that you are doing anything wrong it is just the sense that he has the power when he is near you. that is just my opinion.

I don't sweat it...I drive 5 mph over the speed limit and talk on the phone...and I wave at 'em several times just so they know that I know his sorry butt is back there...
