Dell would be a ripoff parts and service wise. HP is much better in those areas. Apple is also good although a little hippy in my opinion.

A good company to consider is Carbonfrost Systems. I can speak from experience when I say they have the best warranty and service. They will literally build it to whatever you want while keeping the price low. They have computers in all price ranges so you should be able to find one.

They are launching their laptops in couple of weeks, and their computers are actually better than all of those specs for the computers you would see in Dell, HP, Acer etc and is cheaper while thier parts are all name brand parts. Just a little info for you.

They will have laptops in all price ranges with the best parts and service so you shouldn't have a problem finding one that suits you the best.

The problem with Tablet PCs is that they are still in the novelty stage and it will be sometime befoer their functionality catches up with those of of a normal laptop.

I do not understand why people say very few games are available for Macs... Let us have a talk brother. You need to talk with me, for I know what I am talking about.

What you need is a Macbook It is NOT expensive... You won't find a regular laptop with windows that has the Macbook specification for $1.100
Mac lacks nothing. If there are games that Mac OSX doesn't support, your Mac will still play them. How? All you need to do is install windows on your Mac. Your Mac is compatibile with every thing. Not only your Mac is compatible with everything, it does everything you need. Most of all, it allows you to have best of both world, Windows and Mac.

Honestly, why do people buy windows laptop where they can install windows on a durable Mac machine? Mac parts are durable and life worthy. A mac will lasts 5 more years than a regular cheap based windows system. Get a Mac and never look back.

I recently bought an Acer Aspire 3690. Brand new only cost about 600 bucks. Includes wi-fi, dvd-burner and a pretty fast computer. May not be a "top-shelve" laptop, but it gets the job done. Another fairly priced laptop is the Toshiba Satellite

Look in the yellow pages for a store near you that sells used laptops. The one near me buys laptops from big businesses. These businesses use the laptops for a year or 2 and then trade them in for the newest models. The store buys the used laptops, makes sure they are good and sells them. You can get a really good laptop cheap. Mine is a Toshiba wireless Pentium M with window xp and cost me $600.00.

alienware is out of the question, those are like $2000+. other than that its mainly preferance, macs arent the best at gameing though, they are mainly for like movie making and programing and stuff.
