I have 1 RES that lives in a pond outside. I bring him inside every night because I have raccoons and coyotes. Right now he sleeps in a small carrier, but he doesn't like this, and frankly, neither do I. I'm wondering what other people do who have this problem. Covering the pond is not an option. I have been thinking about building an enclosure to keep him in at night. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Turtles should sleep in water. Most people in this situation create overnight tanks or big plastic tubs.

I have 2 red earred sliders but they aren't as big as yours yet. I would recommend that you build some sort of wire inclosure by his pond. Try using chicken wire so that the racoons don't get in after him. Good luck!
