generally yes because there are 2 cores inside the core 2 duo and would do better than a single core processor such as the celeron D. the frequencies about dual core are hardly an issue as they perform much faster than single core processors.

Yes it will. Based on the L1 and L2 Cache alone. The Cache is a small chunk of high speed RAM on the CPU. It holds the instructions to the CPU for a short time, the larger the cache the more instructions it will process and faster the CPU. Celeron's are cheap because they have smaller cache then a Pentium. The Core Dual 2 has 2 Cores so it has larger Cache and there is 2 sets of L1 and L2 for each Core.

I would say yes. Core 2 duo has more cache than the celeron.

Yes! Any core duo 2 is better than any single core. But it depends, although in this im guessing the duo core 2 precessor os faster.

yes, the core 2 duo has a 2mb cache but the celeron i think only has 256 kb cache

yes very much so. the celeron has a very low cache, and the c2d has a large cache like 4mb. the c2s is 2 pentium m processors ( laptop processors) on a single socket
