Yes, it is a real, (not-quite-so-live), dual core processor. It is an awesome processor- I have one in my new laptop. I am really pleased. The two cores help tremendously when running many apps at the same time. Definitely a good deal.

yes a core 2 duo is a dual core cpu and just about the best one you can get (depending on the model) but generally they are the best

yea the c2d is 2 pentium m processors ( laptop processors) with a very large cache like 4 mb.
