Your sitting in the middle seat on a Boeing 737. You're in for a 5 hour flight. You have a little girl next to you and a grown man on the other side. In front of you is this lady with dyed blonde hair and bug eyes. You're settling in and you open your book. You lean forward and pull your little tray down gently to rest your book on. Suddenly the lady in front of you whips around and goes "Do you MIND?" and you reply "Mind what, exactly?" She then says, "You're hitting the back of my seat! I will have you removed from this flight if you do it one more time!" What would you do next?

I didn't mean that in an offensive way, I really think she was.

Tell the flight attendant the woman threatened to blow the plane up

She probably was just plain old crazy and rude.
1st I would have told her I was pulling down my tray and not kicking the seat. But if she turns around one more time and be rude with me, I will do a lot more than kick the seat. Now turn and don't ever look back at me or you will will riding this flight on the landing gear.

ok... no one go crazy here... just say your sorry really nice, and then say that you didn't realize that you were, and just watch the little girl next to you and stuff and see if it was her kicking the seat or something. If she yells at you again, tell someone that you are having a hard time because you aren't hitting the ladys chair, and see if there are any open seats from someone that couldn't make the flight. Otherwise, I just wouldn't touch her seat including the table... and just ignore her. That is a tough situation and I really hope I could help you resolve it!

"I think you're mistaken, ma'am. All I've done is lowered my tray, which as a fellow paying traveler- I have the right to do. I'm just trying to enjoy my flight, maybe you should relax and do the same. And feel free to call the attendant, I'm sure she'll see there's nothing to be ugly about."
And then ignore her. The more she talks the more obvious it is to all around that she's deranged. When and if the stewardess is needed, you'll be fine, because others will back your side of things.

I'd call for the flight attendant and have her explain to the woman that I am placing the tray which is attached to the back of her chair in the downward position, which I have the right to do as a paying passenger.

I would just keep eye contact for a second or two then look back down at my book.

OR

I'd ask exactly how she proposed to have me removed from the plane. Wait for her to start yelling and watch the TSA agents drag her off the plane

Apologize, then kick her seat every 10 to 15 minutes. When she flips out again act like you have no idea what she's talking about. As soon as she turns back around, kick it again.

Or poke her in the bug eyes. Whatever tickles your fancy.

call the flight attendant, and ask her if that lady can really remove you from the flight. And then when the flight attendant says no, throw a raspberry in her face.

I would ask for the flight attendant and ask to be move to another seat if possible; if not I would ignore her and forget what she ever said.
