is the US team more competitive because some of its players play overseas and not in the US?

if every player on the US team played only in the US would they be any good at all. then again would any national team

The US team is more competitive because the MLS is getting better and because some it its players are playing overseas.

This is true for US but not true for other countries like Italy. If you look at Italy's current squad, all of them play for the Serie A except Cannavaro and Zambrotta, who were former Juventus players and only transferred to La Liga when Juventus was relegated. Even if all the Italian team players are only playing in Serie A, the Itallian team is still competitive. They won the 2006 World Cup.

For the current England team, only Beckham plays outside of EPL. For the current Spain team, all players are in La Liga except for Alonso, Fabregas, and Reina who are in EPL. Should they play outside of EPL and La Liga to be more competive?

Most Brazil and Argentina players, on the other hand, are playing in Europe. Brazil's current squad only has 3 national team players playing in Brazil and Argentina has only 7 players out of 22 playing in Argentina. Are they more competitive than Italy, England and Spain?

I guess it also depends on the competitiveness and the players in their national leagues like Serie A, EPL, La Liga, and other leagues.

Yes this makes them more competitive because they guys that play over seas are constantly going up against the best of the best every match and so when they play for USA they are used to playing against great players.

The U.S. team is gettin better cuz about half the team plays in Europe where theyres alot better competition... if the whole team played in europe theyd have a nice team

Yes. It helps big time.
There is no other way to put it. The U.S. is more competitive because some of them play overseas. Is it the only answer to being better, ofcourse not. But it helps big time.

DEFINITELY. If they only played in the MLS, we would not be as good of a team.
