Although I do like the nickname Mad, I don't particularly like Maddox, it's a little too out there for my taste. I absolutely love the name Mason, it is a great name. It's also a name in my family so I like it even more.

Sorry, I too also associate Maddox with Angelina Jolie, which isn't necessarily a good thing - in my opinion anyway.
I'd pick Mason.

I am a 29 year old mom of 2. I gave my soon to be 10 year old a "unique" name with a very different spelling and COMPLETELY regret it now. I chalk it up to my young age at the time. Bad move on my part. I gave my 4 year old a more traditional name and am glad I did!

I am not crazy about those names. I know 3 people who named their dogs Maddox! And Mason just has an odd made-up ring to it.

I love it! I think of "mason jars" with mason, but it is not that big of a deal. I wanted to name my kid maddox but like matix to sway it from the look of being a last name. That way if he doesnt like having a "different" name, he can go by "matt"...just a suggestion though, good idea with those names and way to go staying away from k and j names like everyone else.

As for the angelina jolie thing, forget about it, everyone that meets your kid will associate his name with YOUR SON, not a famous person's child.

Whoo when Angelina Jolie named her son Maddox I thought how original I really liked it. Mason still reminds of a an old attorney show....Perry Mason? Nope I like Maddox better.

When I hear Maddox I immediately think of Angelina Jolie as I think most people do. So if you want to constantly be asked if you named your kid after Angelina Jolie's kid I guess that's up to you, but I'm not crazy about the name.

I do really like Mason. It sounds strong and masculine.

I'm 25.
