You should have your doctor do a check in the leg that is swollen to rule out a Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clot) make sure there aren't any hot red and sore spots on your leg and do a search for DVT in pregnancy. I did have a swollen leg and no DVT.. it turned out it was just how the baby was positioned. But, double check because your health depends on it.

With my first pregnancy my feet didn't swell but with the baby I am carrying now my feet have been swollen almost everyday for the past month. My Right one swells a lot more and gets a lot bigger than my left. The doctor told me its because its hot and sticky outside and the uterus sits on the right side so it puts strain on the blood vessels to you legs and feet. As for the Left one swelling and not the right I'm not sure but it could be because you put all your weight on your left leg and foot or maybe you carry heavy things around on your left side and it somehow affects the blood flow to your foot. You might ask your doctor about it and see what they have to say. You also wanna watch out for your hands and face swelling cause that could mean you have Toxemia. But I wouldn't worry too much about it unless your doctor says something about it.

Lol. Funny how that happens. Mine are doing the same thing. my left foot is the one that swells and my right one looks normal, and I am 36 weeks. My doctor said it was normal though. So long as there is no protein in your urine and your blood pressure is fine, you should be OK. Although it is kind of an inconvenience. especially when trying to put your shoes on. My doc said to stay off my feet as much as possible, and as soon as I noticed them starting to swell to prop them up and stay off of them until the swelling went down. And to increase my water intake, to help flush any poisons in my system that might make them swell. This actually seems to help some. My left foot doesn't swell nearly as often and when it does swell it doesn't seem to get as large. I hope this helps some.

You are really early to have any feet swelling. When is your next doctor's appt.?
Probably the baby is lying on one side, causing pressure on the vessels, there, and leading to swelling. My second did that, but not until 36 weeks - and it lasted until I delivered.
Do you have any leg pain, or hot or red spots? if yes, goto the ER.
If by 'huge' you mean you can't get your shoe or slipper on, call the doc and see if you need to be seen NOW for a blood pressure check, or come in the morning.
Mean while, drink a lot of water, and lie on the non-swollen side [ maybe that little dickens will move over a little! ]
Avoid salt, including soda, chips, cold cuts, and hot dogs.

This has not happened to me, but I have heard of it happening. Maybe when you stand you lean your weight onto one side of your body.
You need to elevate your feet (foot) for a while and drink some water. It also might help if you can cut out or reduce salt intake. If the swelling does not go down with elevation and hydration, or you start swelling in your hands and face, you need to call your doctor because it could be a sign of a more significant medical problem and they might want to see you.

The exact same thing happens to me. I'm only 17 weeks pregnant and I just elevate them both and it eventually goes down. Don't worry, During my first pregnancy I gained seven pounds in my last week because of my swollen flintstone feet. My dr. was not happy at all!
