the bike was taken apart and put back together with new gaskets before I got it. I've got spark
When I kick it it just turnes over and gas putters out of the carb.

They guy that put it together may have adjusted the cam timing wrong and bent the valves.
If the intake valve was bent, on the compression stroke, fuel would be blown back into the carb.
Check the compression.
