First of all, most people with a broken jaw are immediately subject to unconsciousness. Second, upon waking up, they find that they are totally unable to open, close, or in any way move their jaw bone in any direction without severe, mind-numbing pain. If anything, you may have had more soft tissue damage than any kind of bone breaking contact. BUT!!!! If the pain continues and you're unable to eat or even open your mouth the next morning, go to the doctor immediately! You could have damaged one of the muscle and ligaments connecting the jawbone to the skull. And that takes a LONG time to heal properly too! I know, I had the same thing happen to me when I was in Ken-do one day and got hit so hard with a boken (by pure accident I assure you) that not only did it knock me out, but it also dis-located my jaw bone too!
